EPIK,GEPIK Applicant must provide a proof of teaching experience and usually your current employer or previous employer will issue this letter when you compete your 1 year full time teaching experience. This letter is important to obtain when you complete one year contract while you are staying in South Korea because you can get an elevation of salary level.

Letter must be officially issued by institution and period of employment and title of position need to stated and please refer below sample letter if you need to request one to your current or previous employer.

 

<Proof of Teaching Experience Template>

Letter Head

Should Include: Company Address

Contact information

Phone number

Email address

Fax number (if available)

Recipient Information: E.g., “Dear Sir or Madam” or, “To whom it may concern.”

(Please do not put the recruiting agency’s name here)

Name:

Position:

Signature (must be in ink)

Please write specific information regarding the applicants’ career. The letter must:

 

ü  Be in Korean or English

ü  Include the applicant’s full first and last name.

ü  Include dates of employment: In YYYY/MM-YYYY/MM format.  E.g., 2008/08-2010/07

ü  Include the total number of academic or contractual years worked. E.g., “2 full academic years.”

ü  Include the exact location of the school or institute.  E.g., Reading Town in Busan

ü  Include a position title. E.g., “Full Time English teacher.”

ü  State the average number of hours worked per week. E.g., “40 hours per week.”

ü  State the relationship to the applicant. E.g., Supervisor, Manager, Head Co-Teacher

ü  Any additional relevant information

Date: may not be older than 2 years
