EPIK - English Program in Korea

Application Process for EPIK (English Program in Korea)


1. Arranging Job interview with EPIK (English Program in Korea)



Korvia Consulting Recruiter will recommend you to EPIK (English Program in Korea)office after phone call for asking routine questions and answering you some questions that you might want to know. In order to arrange a job interview you need to provide below items to Korvia Recruiter.

A. EPIK (English Program in Korea) application form (including personal essay and self medical check form)
B. Scanned copy of two recommendation letters (must be issued by current or previous employer or academic professors including signature)
C. GPA Grades (BA and MA/PHD if applicable)
D. LESSON PLAN (IF YOU WILL APPLY FOR SEOUL - SMOE Program)
E. Available phone number and range of time that EPIK (English Program in Korea) can call you.

* EPIK (English Program in Korea) interview schedule is between 9:30AM ~4:30PM (KOREAN TIME)


2. Preparing required document for screening


If you passed job interview then you need to send list of required document to Korvia Office (recruiter) so EPIK (English Program in Korea) can screen your application. Once your document screened by EPIK (English Program in Korea) office, Supervisor of POE (Provincial Office of Education) will do 2nd screening of your document for a final confirmation. After two screening process, you will be able to apply your visa with NOA (Notice of Appointment) and final copy of contract.

*Your placement will not be confirmed until you will recieve a NOA and final contract from Korvia Consulting (EPIK)
*Your documents must be sent by express mail service such as FEDEX or DHL


3. Issuance of NOA and Final copies of contract.


EPIK (English Program in Korea) will issue NOA and two final copy of contract for your visa application and these documents will be sent to your home address by DHL.

*You need to provide an address so Korvia can send you the documents by DHL


4. Applying E2 visa at nearest Korean consulate


You need to visit or send mail for applying E2 visaand NOA (Notice of Appointment) and one copy of contract need to be submitted. You can keep another copy of contract but you must bring this copy when you come to South Korea. You need to fill in E2 Visa application form and you need employer's information depends on POE (Provincial Office of Education)

*You should contact your nearest Korean consulate before you apply


5. Book your flight ticket


Book your flight and send your full flight itinerary to your recruiter. EPIK (English Program in Korea) will pay 1.3M KRW cash for your flight regardless of your flight cost so you better find cheapest flight so you can save you money. Arrival date will be announced by EPIK and your recruiter will inform you when you arrive at the INCHEON airport.


6. Attending Orientation


Once you arrive at the INCHEON airport, You have to check in at EPIK (English Program in Korea)reception and EPIK (English Program in Korea) will guide you for a shuttle bus. Orientation usually takes about 7~10days and applicant's placement will be announced during this orientation. Medical test (including TBPE and HIV test) will be done during orientation and applicant must pay for this medical examination.

*EPIK will send you ID and Password for online orientation and you must complete it before arrive in South Korea
*You must check in first otherwise your name will not be on the list for your shuttle bus
 

7. First day of School


Your employment starts from first day of school and you may need to show your employment contract as well as "Residency certificate" for your free income tax. Government public school teacher can have first two years of income tax exemption according to Double Taxation Agreement.

*Income Tax Exemption does not applying to Canadian and Irish citizens
